Rocking Horse Academy’s early preschoolers are part of inclusive classrooms with teachers who have a strong knowledge of child development to help them successfully teach and challenge young children with a variety of talents and interest. We continue to prepare all students for elementary school by lining up to move to recess, to the cafeteria for lunch, to the gym for organized PE, and to the computer lab for ABC Mouse. Each student has his/her own account that can be accessed and used at home as well.
Rocking Horse Academy teachers utilize a curriculum that instills reading, math, science exploration, and social skills, and foster a child’s cognitive and motor development. To aid in the development of emergent literacy skills, teachers introduce name and numbers tracing, categorizing shapes and the recognition of patterns. Our preschoolers are also encouraged to participate in peer and play-based learning to increase their independence and strengthen their social and emotional development.
At Rocking Horse Academy, we know preschoolers are very curious and using their imaginations is a way for them to understand the world around them. Our educators design confidence-building opportunities to solve problems and make decisions which help your child grow. Our program is based on what research says best prepares children for all the big steps ahead.
